Buckner Terrace Homes and Real Estate

Most homes in Buckner Terrace are one-story, many of which were built on pier and beam foundations.  There are many advantages to having a pier and beam foundation, especially in the hot Texas climate.  The earlier subdivisions were built starting in the early 1960s through the mid 1970s.  Some newer subdivisions, including the subdivision of Everglade Park, were mostly built in the early to mid 1980s and many of those homes have slab foundations.

Some reasons why home buyers choose to live in the Buckner Terrace area:

  • Homes are built on lots that are large relative to many neighborhoods in east Dallas.  The average lot size of homes sold last year was just over .2 acres.
  • The neighborhood is relatively affordable compared to some neighboring areas of East Dallas.
  • Many homes in the neighborhood have rear-entry garages.
  • Large, mature trees are common throughout the neighborhood.
  • The proximity of the neighborhood to major thoroughfares, such as I30 and LBJ/635 makes commuting to other areas of Dallas quick and easy.
