The Enclave at White Rock is a small, gated community of single-family homes located in East Dallas, TX on the southeast side of White Rock Lake across from Garland Road.   The neighborhood was developed by David Weekly Homes between 1998 and 2000.  The Enclave at White Rock Lake is a very popular neighborhood for homeowners who love the East Dallas lifestyle and also prefer the setting and amenities of a private, gated community of homes that are relatively newer compared to most neighborhoods in the area.  The neighborhood is within walking and biking distance to White Rock Lake and is also close to the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Gardens and many other East Dallas recreational, shopping and entertainment attractions.

The Enclave at White Rock Lake consists entirely of just one small subdivision made up of seven residential streets:  Enclave Way, Briar Brook Court, Xavier Court, Glade Creek Court, Glade Hill Court, Glenlivet Drive and Glade Forest Drive.  The area is southwest of Highland Road and the Forest Hills neighborhood.  The Enclave at White Rock is easily identifiable because the name of the neighborhood is displayed at the gated entrances to the community.

The Enclave at White Rock is one of the only private, gated communities consisting of newer homes that exist in the White Rock Lake area of East Dallas.

The neighborhood has a private lake with fountains, its own jogging / walking trails and plenty of grassy areas for residents to enjoy walking their pets or other forms of outdoor fun.

All homes in the Enclave at White Rock were built by award-winning homebuilder David Weekly Homes.  Home styles vary throughout the neighborhood, with some unique traditional and tudor revival-style homes.  Most homes have mainly brick exteriors but a few are mixed with variations of stone and siding, depending on the style and were built on slab foundations.

The lot sizes range between small tracts of just over .10 acres to around .25 acres depending on where they are located in the neighborhood.  Some of the homes are considered zero-lot homes.   Homes in the neighborhood were built between 1998 and 2000.

The predominant home floor plan in the neighborhood is three bedroom and four bedroom homes with between two and three full bathrooms, many of which also have a half-bathroom.  There are a few five bedroom homes in the neighborhood as well.   There is also a mix of one and two story homes.  Home sizes range from just under 2,000 square feet to over 3,500 square feet.  All homes have at least a two car garage and a few homes in the neighborhood also have swimming pools.

Enclave at White Rock Home Owner’s Association

The Enclave at White Rock has a mandatory home owners association that requires owners to pay quarterly dues.   Membership in the HOA and payment of fees allows owners use of neighborhood amenities, such as the gated entrance and perimeter fence and use of the park, private lake and jogging trails in the neighborhood.

Life in the Enclave at White Rock

Residents of The Enclave at White Rock enjoy both the private recreation amenities of their gated neighborhood as well as the assortment of public recreation, shopping and dining opportunities that East Dallas has to offer its residents.

Shopping / Dining.  Little Forest Hills is located in the heart of East Dallas and offers many choices for retail shopping and dining:

  • Casa Linda Plaza is located a short drive away at Buckner and Garland road.  The shopping center has many restaurants and stores, including Albertsons and the recently opened Natural Grocers, which specializes in natural and organic foods.
  • Shopping centers line both sides of Garland road that have many retail shops and restaurants.
  • Lakewood Village shopping center is just a short drive down Gaston Road.   The Lakewood area features an abundance of restaurants, bars and specialty stores, including Whole Foods.
  • Short drive from many other areas of Dallas that have some of the best shopping and dining establishments in the country.

Entertainment / Nightlife – Little Forest Hills is also close to many areas of Dallas that have year-round entertainment options for children and adults.

  •  The Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Gardens – Located just across and to the north on Garland Road.  Events including concerts, art shows, seasonal garden attractions and festivals.
  • Dallas Arts District – A short distance away on the northeast side of downtown Dallas.
  • Very close to Lakewood Village, Lower Greenville and Knox-Henderson areas with tons of entertainment and nightlife.  Deep Ellum, Fair Park and downtown are also a few miles away.

Parks and Recreation:

  • The Enclave at White Rock has its own private lake with fountains and walking / jogging trails.
  • St. Frances Park located just east of the neighborhood.  Walking distance for many.
  • White Rock Lake and adjacent parks – Enjoy easy access to the White Rock trails and parks.  The White Rock Trail is easily accessible by walking or riding across Garland Road.
  • Santa Fe Bike and Jogging Trail – Trail that was opened this year and runs from the south side of White Rock Lake to Deep Ellum and close to downtown.  City plans are in the works to extend the trail closer to downtown and make it easy to connect with Katy Trail.


Residents of The Enclave at White Rock have easy access to major freeway thoroughfares in Dallas as well as a variety of public transportation options available through the Dallas Area Rapid Transit System (DART).

  • Garland Road turns into Grand Avenue and connects with Interstate 30 a few miles to the south.  635 is accessible by taking Garland Road north and Gaston Avenue provides easy access to other parts of East Dallas and the downtown area.
  • DART Rail – White Rock Station located on the northwest side of White Rock Lake connects you with DART’s 72 mile light-rail system that spans into downtown and many suburbs.  The train is bike friendly and some trains have bike racks.
  • DART provides bus service throughout the greater Dallas area and has bus stops on Garland Road and Gaston Road close to The Enclave at White Rock.

Bryan Adams has 20 advanced placement courses and also has a collegiate academy in partnership with Eastfield College which allows students the opportunity to earn up to 60 college credit hours or an associates degree by the time they graduate high school, and this program is tuition-free.  Adams also has several athletic programs in sports such as baseball, soccer, softball, tennis, football, track, swimming, and cross country.
