The Enclave at Wyrick Estates is a small, gated neighborhood of approximately 150 homes in the East Dallas area located northeast of White Rock Lake and north of the Lochwood neighborhood. The gated entrance to the neighborhood is located on the south side of Northwest Highway just east of the intersection of Lake Highlands Drive and Plano Road.  The Enclave at Wyrick Estates was developed by renowned home builder David Weekley Homes and is one of only a small number of gated subdivisions in the East Dallas area close to White Rock Lake.

David Weekley Homes has received numerous builder-industry awards, including the Builder of the Year award from Professional Builder Magazine. Construction of the final home in the neighborhood was completed in 2013 so no additional new homes will be built in the neighborhood.

David Weekley Homes has developed many other neighborhoods in the East Dallas area, including the Enclave at White Rock and the Enclave at Ash Creek. The David Weekly Enclave neighborhoods are very popular with home buyers who want to live in East Dallas but prefer a newer home in the setting of a private, gated community.

History of The Enclave at Wyrick Estates

David Weekley Homes completed the first home in The Enclave at Wyrick Estates in 2006 and the final home was completed and sold in 2013. A new David Weekley development is scheduled to break ground in 2014 a short distance away on the northwest side of Plano Road and Northwest Highway (please complete the contact form at the bottom of this page for more information on this upcoming David Weekley development). The majority of home sales in the neighborhood up to this point have been homes that were sold directly by the builder as most of the original owners still own their homes, but a number of preexisting sales have been reported in MLS (see data and charts below).

The Enclave at Wyrick Estates –  Homes and Neighborhood

Homes in The Enclave at Wyrick Estates are newer, traditional-style homes, many with a mix of brick and white Austin stone. The homes are a mix of one and two story floor plans, most of which are three bedroom homes with at least two full baths and two car garages.  The largest homes have as many as four or five bedrooms and up to four baths. All homes in The Enclave at Wyrick Estates are over 2,000 square feet with the largest ones measuring over 4,000 square feet.

The homes typically have front-entry garages and lots that mostly range between .12 and .18 acres.  The neighborhood is gated and requires a private code to access entry. The neighborhood also has a brick wall on the north side that serves as a sound barrier from Northwest Highway.

Living in The Enclave at Wyrick Estates

The neighborhood is both fenced and gated and is relatively close to the White Rock Lake area and many shopping and entertainment areas of East Dallas.  The neighborhood is walking distance or a short drive from the intersection of Plano Road and Northwest Highway which has a Kroger, Pizzeria, Play it Again Sports Bar, a Fitness Center, CVS Pharmacy, and many other retail shops.

A Lowe’s home improvement store is located a short distance east on Northwest Highway, and there is a Home Depot in the adjacent neighborhood of Lochwood.  The Lochwood public library is also in the same area of the adjacent neighborhood of Lochwood.  And the trails and outdoor amenities of White Rock Lake are just a short drive or bike-ride away, or neighbors can walk or drive a short distance to nearby Lochwood and enjoy its many greenbelts and public parks.

The Enclave at Wyrick Estates Home Owners Association

The Enclave at Wyrick Estates has a homeowner’s association that requires mandatory membership and annual dues for all owners. The HOA dues are used to provide maintenance of common areas in the neighborhood as well as management fees for the HOA.  Meetings are held annually and are open to all owners.

The Enclave at Wyrick Estates Schools

The Enclave at Wyrick Estates is served entirely by the Dallas Independent School District.  There are also many private schools located a short distance from The Enclave at Wyrick Estates.

Elementary School (Grades K-5th) Martha T. Reilly Elementary School - located at 11230 Lippitt Ave. Dallas, TX 75218 | Ph (972) 749-7800

Martha T. Reilly is located in Lochwood, which is the neighborhood on the south side of the Enclave at Wyrick Estates. Reilly recently earned the highest rating from the Texas Education Agency and was one of only a small number of elementary schools in DISD to receive the maximum number of distinctions (Reading, Math, Science, Student Progress, Gap, Post Secondary) in 2014.  Reilly also has a two-way dual language program.  Reilly has a very active group of parents that support the school and students.

Middle School (Grades 6th-8th) – Robert T. Hill Middle School - 505 Easton Rd. Dallas, TX 75218 | Ph (972) 502-5700

Robert T Hill Middle School is located close to the Enclave at Wyrick Estates in the adjacent neighborhood of Old Lake Highlands. Hill has a STEM academy that includes classes on science and technology, automation and robotics, computer science, and flight and space.

High School (Grades 9th-12th) – Bryan Adams High School - 2101 Millmar Dr. Dallas, TX 75228 | Ph (972) 502-4900

Bryan Adams is located a few miles east of the Enclave at Wyrick Estates. Bryan Adams has 20 advanced placement courses and also has a collegiate academy in partnership with Eastfield College which allows students the opportunity to earn up to 60 college credit hours or an associates degree by the time they graduate high school, and this program is tuition-free.  Adams also has several athletic programs in sports such as baseball, soccer, softball, tennis, football, track, swimming, and cross country.

DISD also offers several specialized areas of study for students through various magnet programs and schools.  Students must complete an application process and be accepted in order to attend a magnet program or school in DISD.

Private Schools located in East Dallas:

  • Bishop Lynch High School – A Catholic, co-educational high school with over 1,000 students serving grades 9-12.  Noted for its superb academic and athletic programs, and they have won several state championships in various sports.
  • St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic School – This Catholic school serves grades PK3 all the way through 8th and was named a National Blue Ribbon School in 2012.  St. Thomas has two campuses in the east Dallas area located west of White Rock Lake but still a relatively short drive from The Enclave at Wyrick Estates: one located on Mockingbird Lane and the other on Abrams Road.
  • White Rock Montessori School – This innovative school was founded in 1975 and serves ages three through 8th grade.  It is located east of White Rock Lake at 1601 Oates Drive which is a short drive from The Enclave at Wyrick Estates.
  • Dallas Lutheran School – For over 30 years, Dallas Lutheran School (formerly Lutheran High School) has been a premier private Christian school in the Dallas / Lake Highlands area.  The school is located on Stults Road close to Forest Lane and Greenville Avenue.
  • Lakehill Preparatory School – This fully accredited co-ed school was established in 1971 and serves Kindergarten through 12th grade.  They offer a rigorous college-prep curriculum along with many impressive athletic programs.

The Enclave at Wyrick Estates Real Estate Sales Data and Charts

Here’s a summary and some highlights from real estate sales data reported though NTREIS for the last 10 years in The Enclave at Wyrick Estates (NOTE: Not all sales of newly constructed homes are included because some were not listed in MLS by the builder):

  • Homes were constructed between 2006 and 2013.  The average home was built in 2009.
  • The average size home is three bedrooms and two and a half bathrooms, but the largest homes have up to five bedrooms and four bathrooms.
  • Square footage of homes ranged between about 2,100 and 4,400 square feet with the average being just over 3,000 square feet.
  • Most homes have two car garages, but a few of the larger ones have three car garages.
  • Lot sizes range between .12 and .18 acres.  Lot dimensions range from 50′ X 110′ to as large as 50′ X 153′.
